About Me

I am someone who loves to travel and very open to new cultures and people. I first decided to travel after I finished University – I went to New Zealand. I spent a year experiencing this beautiful and varied country and got to know many wonderful people. During my time there I took on various jobs in different towns along the way. Before heading home I stopped in Sydney, Dubai, and travelled through South East Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried Couch Surfing in New Zealand and immediately thought it was fantastic. You meet loads of really nice people to share stories with. I like hearing about other people’s stories and experiences. Also, you get secret insider tips from the hosts that you stay with. Everyone wins!

Interests

I am a very sporty person and am interested in many types of sport. I play Icehockey, go Scubadiving and play Speedbadmiton (a mixture of squash, badminton and tennis). My time in New Zealand has also turned me into a rugby fan! My motto is to grab every chance to experience something new so that you don’t regret it.
Outdoor adventures: A 10 day kayak tour along the Elbe in Germany and a 10 day hike on Stewart Island in New Zealand (North West Circuit) with my best friend.
I am also very interested in aeroplanes and the technology behind them.
On Koh Kood, an Island in Thailand, I completed a four day PADI open water diver course and , with regards to food, I love to try out new dishes and drinks from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Since the first time I saw them in concert I have been a huge fan of Rammstein. Their live show is awesome! Otherwise I listen to everything – whatever comes on the radio.
TV shows I like include breaking bad, Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a half Men (but only with Charlie Cheen).
My favourite movies are: In Time, Inception and those sorts of films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A highlight of my time in NZ are the three bungee jumps which I completed in Queenstown and being able to convince my then girlfriend to jump too!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to make the sport Speedbadminton better known and I am up for teaching anyone who is curious about learning it because it is a very easy sport to grasp. I always try to take two rackets with me wherever I travel to.
I would also love to learn Spanish. I am more or less a beginner so I can’t really converse in it yet but any chance to practice would be great.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Many interesting stories about my adventures and travels as well as a great tasting Chilli Con Carne, which I would be happy to cook for the host.
