About Me
Hello everyone. I'm Daniel.
I live in Berlin since about 2 years, and finally have a place where I can host, just like I hosted so many of you when I was living in Tel Aviv, where I am from originally.
But Couchsurfing has changed a bit since I was very active a couple of years ago; Recently I feel like the CS website is very annoying, as if "the bad guys" took over. Charging money, being really pushy, limiting messages and so on. I don't like it. "If you forget your roots, you have no future", wise men said. Helping people and making it easier for them, allowing them to ask for a gift, was key to the community. Our roots are to gift other people, allowing them (and ourselves) to ask for it - and then open our doors to them, not only house doors but heart and consciousness, perception. Fuck money and fuck capitalism!
So, I'm always very happy to try to help, but unfortunately I can host only very few of you lovely souls - I'm getting more than 10 requests in 2 days, and I also have to have some alone time, you know... Feel free to message me, you might be lucky as I love meeting great people from all over the world and improving their travel experience! And I can also do that by giving great tips for anything. and/or hanging out, therefore I always reply to every message (even if not at the first day...).
I like it when a surfer brings the host a little gift from the locality he is coming from originally. Or cooks a traditional dish.

Live and let live, don't judge nobody as long as they didn't hurt/harm anyone. Discover, study and learn as much as you can, share your knowledge. Experience and explore as much as you can while you still can...

** OLD PROFILE FROM TEL AVIV, MAYBE I RETURN ONE DAY :) **
I really love meeting new people from all over the world and check new places, new cultures, new stories.
I'm travelling in every chance I get to... I know how nice it can be to meet nice local people when you are away from home, so If I can also suggest my couch and show them around - It's my pleasure to do so. It's a blessing for me to host people and make their stay much more comfortable and help as much as I can - even if sometimes I'm busy and I can offer only my place, a little talk and useful recommendations and tips.
I'm completing my M.A degree in Tel Aviv University (Sociology and Anthropology), working in the University and writing for several websites. I am also DJ'ing with a couple of friends around Tel Aviv and the rest of Israel, mostly Jamaican music :-)
Been around Tel Aviv since forever, so I can be a good tour guide with all the special and secret places, from food, parks, Architecture to nightlife etc...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Cuz I'd dove at least feeling the travel vibes at my place if I can't travel myself.
Cuz I love meeting different people from different places.
Cuz I love to gift.
Cuz I hope that people will be able to gift me too when I ask for one, surfing (which rarely happens)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
Kurosawa, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Chaplin, Welles, Fellini, Bergman, Coppola, Antonioni, Wilder, Polanski, etc.........
More modern: Allen, Cohen Brothers, Scorsese, Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Burton, Almodovar, Benigni etc....
I used to DJ Jamaican & Carribean music for many years, so that has a special place in my heart, and a part of me. But happy to listen and dance to various other genres. For dancing I really like soulful house and sometimes even disco - alcohol helps and I get drunk very easily and fast :-)
Herman Hesse, Henry David Thoreau, Franz Kafka, Ervin Yalom, Erich Fromm, Ervin Goffman.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent over a week on an island in San Blas, Panama. Speechless.
Stayed in the ghetto in Kingston, Jamaica. Another incredible experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
Interesting... I can teach Hebrew, Sociology, Anthropology, cooking Israeli/Arabic food, stuff about sports, Dj'ing, and actually quite a lot of other things. Try me. I think I am the only person in the world who can lick his elbow, so Bazooka Joe said at least :P (now you will try and look stupid...)
I am interested in learning Polish (damn it's harder than learning German!) and improve my Italian.
I love learning anything meaningful, please teach me anything you feel you know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking Israel\Arabic food, stories from all over the world, a chilled night at home or mad-partying night out, and many more fun things!
