About Me
Hi! I'm Dánisa, a High School Spanish and Literature teacher. I live with my husband Marcos, who is an Arts teacher. We enjoy our little house in a quiet neighbour, 24 kms. away from downtown, sharing it with two dogs and two cats.
I have studied educational technologies for the past 16 years.
This year I'm studying to become an English teacher, which makes me really happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love traveling, but since with can't afford doing it as much as we'd like, we have decided that couchsurfing might be the next best thing to getting to know people and different cultures.
We believe that hosting people is a beautiful way to show the best of our culture and country, and expand our cultural horizons.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music in all its forms. I specially enjoy listening to oldies from the 70's and the 80's, I also listen to lots of Uruguayan music such as Fernando Cabrera, Eduardo Darnauchans and Eduardo Mateo. I love Brazilian music as well.
I watch as much movies as I can, drama, comedy, adventure, independent, Latinamerican and European films. I don't like belic and westerns, but I love pretty much everything else.
I have a well-stocked library, where I can reach my favourite novels and poetry. Among my favourite authors you can find Julio Cortázar, Pablo Neruda, Eduardo Sacheri, José Saramago and Federico García Lorca.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done rafting in Costa Rica, and I've felt at the top of the world swinging in the tree house in Baños, Ecuador at 2.660 meters above the sea level .
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a Spanish teacher, so I can help you out with your Spanish. I can also teach some Uruguayan cooking,
I love learning, so everything new is welcome!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a good glass of Uruguayan wine, great music and a long nice talk.
I would love to show them around my beautiful city.
On a practical matter, you can expect to sleep on a comfortable couch in our living room. We can provide sheets and a towel.
