Overview
About Me
My name is Danish, but you can call me Dan! :)
•I'm a Malaysian currently studying abroad in Davis, California in the United States. I've lived here in California for about 4 years now.
•I used to live and host in SoCal, Los Angeles so I can tell you good places to hang out and go to!
• I may appear to be a shy introvert at first but I love to make new friends and once I'm comfortable with you, we're basically friends for life!
So far Couchsurfing has allowed me to befriend so many people from all over the world!
• I consider myself a wanderlust as I can never stay in one place for too long; always needing to travel. (currently trying to finish my North American journeys)
•I love to read, listen to music, photography, history, culture and philosophy, taking long walks and Netflix
•I have a deep passion for knowledge & learning
•I am very ambitious and always anxious about the future.
•I enjoy having long deep conversations instead of small talks.
•I have two cats, Neko & Tora
•I'm majoring in International Relations and would love to master many different languages and make many new friends abroad.
•The reason why I'd love to make friends globally is that while traveling I prefer to live like the local and avoid doing the usual touristy activities; this usually allows me to learn more about the culture of the country better :)
•I consider myself as a resident of the world and my dream is to travel the world, have friends all across the globe and be able to speak many languages :)
•I perceive traveling as a never-ending journey of self-discovery and growth, and I'm all about that!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on a lifelong journey to find myself, and couchsurfing is a really good way to meet people from all over the world and getting to know them on a personal and a cultural level. Maybe along the way, I'll find out where I belong eventually.
As a host:
As I mentioned before, I'm interested in making friends worldwide and hope that by showing kindness to others in need, I would receive a similar treatment. I also strive to be the best gracious host as much as I can :)
As a surfer:
I'd say couch surfing is the best cost effective way of getting to know the locals and seeing how they live their daily lives! My kind of travelling is I prefer to avoid the touristy stuff and prefer to live like the locals do, like a home stay.
Interests
I consider myself a flâneur, someone who enjoys taking long walks with no main objective or whatsoever, as he observes the world around him. It's just how I usually unwind myself from stress apart from running outdoors.
I'm quite the bookworm as I really enjoy learning, my collections mostly include historical and cultural books of the world.
I enjoy making good friends and having good deep conversations.
I'm obsessed with travelling and my dream is to travel and have friends all over the world. Currently trying to finish my North American travels before moving on to Europe!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
