I love music. I play the electric bass. I think jazz music is cool. 😀 I also love that rock n roll... And singer-songwriters. I like to joke around and have a good laugh. I love a good conversation. I like to go out and watch live shows, travel, and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live in Gainesville and would love to host some people in July.

I was introduced to couchsurfing.com by my college friend and roommate, Tarryn. While at Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA I met fantastic couch-surfers.
One of my favorite hosting experiences was when my roommates and I hosted a 30 something couple from the UK. We talked with them about British rock, politics, travel, and all kinds of interesting things. They were so cool. The guy made a living booking bands. The woman took the time to admire my record collection. My roommates and I took the couple out to hear the Olympia music scene, and they made us a delicious dinner as a thank you.
My friends, Tarryn and Laura, hosted 2 cool guys freshman year that were relocating to Olympia who we became friends with.

I had two especially great times couch-surfing. One was in Chicago with a bunch of free living guys that made music videos. We partied with them. We went to pitchfork music festival with them. I can't even capture the experience in words but the guys felt like old friends.
Another guy in la let me and my friends couch-surf with him. He was a super nice guy that made documentary films (one of a hitch hiking trip he took with a stranger!). Even though he worked a lot, he found time for us. He took us to the Hollywood stars and the Hollywood sign. I was scared to couch-surf in a big city but he made the experience feel so comfortable.

This is why I love this website and why I am on here. I've made so many memories thanks to couchsurfing.
