Overview
About Me
I recently finished serving as a US Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa. My wife Jacinda (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jacybow) and I recently moved into a house on the East side of Detroit, with way more room than we need. Come stay with us!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Whenever I travel I am always blown away by people's generosity in hosting me. I think it's time for me to pay it forward.

Music, Movies, and Books
Fantastic Mr. Fox. I love foxes and childhood imagination. This coupled with Roald Dahl's creativity makes for a fantastic story.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I biked 4000 miles from Providence to Seattle in the summer of 2011 with an organization called Bike and Build. We raised money to distribute to organizations that engage youth in promoting affordable housing. Yay biking!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can make dove calls and perform a pen spinning finger trick that, as far as I can tell, is not known to the larger pen spinning community (My college room mate and I were competitive about silly things sometimes). Whenever I try it I end up flopping on the floor like a fish out of water, but I have always wanted to learn how to do a kick up.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My partner and I recently served in the US Peace Corps in The Gambia, and have lots of stories to share from the three years we spent in West Africa. We also love to cook, and would be happy to help in the kitchen, or cook a meal while you sit on the couch.
