Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the freedom to do whatever I choose to do. At the moment I am taking a leave of absence from couch surfing. I will be involved in a robotics competition and I am preparing to move from Los Angeles to the Puget Sound area of Washington. I hope to be able to host again some time.

Interests

Wildlife, scenic locations, mountains and forests, birdwatching, hiking, tinkering, robotics, computers, history. I have many and varied interests.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical music, and enjoy others such as oldies rock, bluegrass, and some jazz. My favorite movie of all time is King of Hearts, followed by Young Frankenstein, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Cool Hand Luke. I mostly read non-fiction, but one of the pieces of fiction I enjoyed was Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Enjoyed Bastille Day on a bridge over the Seine just in front of the Eiffel Tower. I also rode on a train at over 300 km/hour. I have participated in the launches of many GPS and NASA missions.

I enjoy most people, but find myself weary of ideological zealots.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have room in my home for guests, I can share my experiences and insights, and I can share what I know of Los Angeles and the other places I have lived or traveled. There will undoubtedly be opinion mixed with facts.
