About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to give the world a better singing doughnut

ABOUT ME

I am a happy go lucky person, very social, love to meet and get to know new people. I believe the best friendships are marked by their ability to survive arguments with a smile and a laugh. I believe in universal love, and free chocolate cookies for all. For music, music and love light up the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Just try to be good to people and the world. Avoid negative people where possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It started that I hosted a few great people in my place in apartment. These days I seem to be travelling more, so I like to ask the hospitality of others too ... :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None through this site - but I have often found the friendship and hospitality of strangers when travelling. Best was probably getting into to a late night music session on the Isle of Arran a few years ago, and then been taken on a weekend sailing/drinking trip the next day. It made my holiday!

Interests

Music, I play clarinet, saxophone and guitar, sing and compose - many styles of acoustic music. I like the wild outdoors and open country. I have two wonderful daughters who live with me part time. I speak French and Dutch pretty well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bladerunner. O Brother Where art Thou. Northern Exposure. Cannery Row. The Magus. The sound of Louis Armstrong playing trumpet, or many other early jazz musicians. Or fiddler Martin Hayes. Or ... oh, there are too many.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once potted a pool ball from the far end of the table, the finest, almost right angle cut shot, it went like 3 feet to just drop in the corner pocket. I was stoned. No one was looking.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I am always happy to pass on what I know of music - people tell me I am good at that. The Art Of Jamming. I like to learn languages, or kind of anything actually. People with expertise and passion interest me.
