I'm open to meeting up and telling y'all tales about my adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To learn about new cultures and places, experiences the beauty of Earth and it's people. To find myself again and share myself with the world.
Interests
Pubic Speaking, Storytelling, Spoken Word, reading, writing, movies, culture, art, music, exotic food, wooden boat building, woodworking, travel and anything that is new and different.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like too many varieties but my favorite non fiction book is "One Man's Wilderness", favorite fiction is "John Die's at the End" and "Game of Thrones".
I really like the bands Modest Mouse, Floater, Trampled by Turtles, Atmosphere, The Devil Makes Three, Metallica, System of the Down, and so many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have stood on the rim of the Grand Canyon, para-sailed in Key West, had drinks at the Signature Lounge in Chicago, jumped into Muncho Lake in British Colombia, walked inside the Roman Colosseum and inside the ruins of Pompeii, crossed the Rio Grande and the great Mississippi rivers, fished for bass in Nebraska, journeyed through the great Red Woods of northern California, toured the cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde Colorado, all while driving 9000 miles across the U.S. and Canada.
I traveled Hawaii, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and South Korea for a year. I witnessed lava flowing into the Pacific ocean on the Big Island in Hawaii, Stood on hallowed ground in Hiroshima Japan seeing the devastation of an atomic bomb, swam naked in Taroko Nation park in Taiwan in the most beautiful gorge I've ever seen, scooped glowing plankton into my hand in the crystal clear waters of the Philippines and stood on the edge of the world between North and South Korea in the DMZ.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to tour people around when my schedule allows! I can answer any questions about Alaska unless it's about hunting or fishing. One of the best parts of meeting so many travelers is that I can tell the same bad jokes every week and there is always someone new to hear them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories of my misadventures, my cooking, my keen sense of humor and my everlasting good looks of course.
