Overview
About Me
I’m originally from the northeast part of the U.S. (New York and Connecticut), but I’ve been living in the Washington, D.C. suburbs for most of my life. My husband Amin (born in Afghanistan and raised in Brooklyn, New York) and I work in computers and usually telecommute (i.e., work from home). Even though we don’t have our own kids, we have a house with multiple rooms and bathrooms so we can host our friends and our many family members, including nine nieces and nephews.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My sister Aimee and her roommate Joshua are long-time Couchsurfing hosts in Denver. They have had so many excellent experiences, they inspired me to become a part of the community, too!

Music, Movies, and Books
I don’t read much with the exception of books by Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling, and Agatha Christie. I enjoy the Bourne movies as well as Big, The Princess Bride, The Departed, and Django Unchained but I prefer sitcoms like Arrested Development, Taxi, Soap, 30 Rock, and Third Rock from the Sun. I love all rock music - The Beatles, U2, No Doubt, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, etc. - in addition to most pop (Robbie Williams), reggae (Matisyahu), hip hop (Black Eyed Peas), and folk (Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel). Basically, I’ll listen to anything except classical, country, or gangster rap.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I graduated from college when I was a teenager and I’ve been to 49 (of 50) states - just missing Alaska!
