Overview
About Me
I'm currently studying anthropology and political science at the University of Colorado Boulder. I was born and raised all around Colorado and studied abroad for a year in Göteborg, Sweden. I love to travel, watch football (soccer) and meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My sister (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/marybeth-lauro) and I are going to be travelling around Europe and I feel the best way to truly experience a place it to stay with someone who lives there. Staying in hotels or hostels and going to the tourist destinations can be nice, but you don't really get to experience the culture or learn about how the people who live there live.
Interests
I can be quite easily entertained and love to learn new things or pick up new hobbies. I love football (soccer), I played competitively when I was younger but now I mostly just watch or play causally. I also play the cello but I can honestly say I'm not very good.
I study anthropology in university (the study of people, past and present), and learning people is definitely one of my main passions, so I love to meet new people, learn about new cultures and ways of life and just chat with people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a year in high school as an exchange student in Sweden which has probably been the most defining experience in my life so far. Even though I had travelled a fair amount with my family growing up, living abroad convinced me that my worldview was too limited and that I need to expand my horizons and travel as much as I could.
Teach, Learn, Share
Americans sometime seem to get a bad reputation abroad (somewhat deservingly) but I'd like to show you that we are not all bad and we don't all have the opinions that you see on our news channels. In turn, you can show me something about your country/town/neighbourhood/culture that you think not enough people know about. I love to learn new things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook and bake. I have lots of fun stories and bad jokes. I can teach you some Swedish if you are interested in learning a language that only nine million people speak.
Countries I’ve Visited
