About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just living life according to my own terms while learning lessons from people I come across with each day.

Live by the sun. Love by the moon. Lead by the sea.

ABOUT ME

***The paragraphs below were written back in 2011/2012 when I first joined this website. I don't wanna amend it as I find it funny and reminds me of who I was back then and where I am at in my life now.****

Well, I am sort of an eccentric person which can be a good thing or bad thing, right? But it all depends on the situation. Sometimes I get really serious and don't talk much and in an instant I will be a chatterbox with blasting exuberant energies. That doesn't mean I'm bipolar, it is just I think it's part of my resilient and well-adaptive being. So I warned you beforehand, be cautious when you are with me. You might like me so much and miss me rather soon (plus I'm good-looking :P). Then I think I need more transcending conceited confidence, shouldn't I? Just kidding! ;-)

On the serious note, I am an outgoing, adventure-seeking, open-minded individual. Close friends say I'm goal-oriented, driven and ambitious but I think it's just a profound part of growing up in a third world country with retired Western colonial influence to have this rationalist mindset. To abridge it all down, I would say that whatever I'll do, it's gonna be about me at the end of the day and I will be 100% liable for it. I know what I'll do, I'm doing, I did and I've done will be for what I believe will result in greater good.

I'm trying to do every crazy thing (geared up with the not so common common-sense of course) and travel often spontaneously during work vacation because I know life's gonna be somewhat will have a different perspective when I will be on my 30s. So while I'm young (single and virginal) anywhere the wind takes me doesn't really matter.

I like to have a good conversation of anything under the sun (even under the moon and the stars) and can do it whole day from dusk until dawn. Random topics are great as I observed it reveal subconsciously a big part of someone's personality.

Surely, I'm a good companion to anyone. Rest assured! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about this site from travelers I've met along the road. Glad I joined and this is an amazingly awesome platform especially for solo travelers like me! Defo recommended 100 percent! :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As of the moment I cannot host because I'm on work/travel but seldom it is possible especially if I'm renting a space in places where I work. Yes, I move a lot!

When I'm back in the Philippines (where I grew up) I can make you feel like a royalty in my house.
Though the surrounding area is still a low-key tourist destination and an off beaten backpacker track but if you are really interested I can show you around like hiking on top of an inactive volcano and it's magnificent crater lake, forest treks, waterfalls and farmlands. Just lemme know in advance and we can arrange something up.

I've met several members and it was really a good experience like having nice random conversations over food, coffee , beer and booze. Talking about random topic is my forte.

Interests

*Languages - I currently try to make my Spanish fluent and learn German/Deutsche on a functional level after.
*History & Archaeology - I'm a history freak since and always fascinated by dinosaur fossils, mummies, historic temples, castles, cathedrals et al.
*Scuba Diving - Tried it and still in love with it.
*Punk/Hipster/Rastafarian - Trying to be one but in a sporadic and somehow unorthodox manner. Reggae music is so chilled out.
*Vagabond Life - It's very interesting to live life that way but not to the extent to look very unkempt and becoming a troglodyte. Ha..
*Beach - Who doesn't love the sun, sea and sand?

But to top it all, meeting people of different walks of life by traveling is the paramount gain in every destination. I firmly believe now that it's not the places you've been to, it's the people you've met that makes the travel worthwhile. You might have gone to paradise, but still you're feeling a tad bit lost. Meeting these people will help you find you and can help you become a better person with new great perspectives and principles. Feels good. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To cite a few:

*Diving in Koh Tao, Thailand was my first and that was phenomenal.
*Riding on a zip line ride over 700m just near our home town at Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
*Seeing Humpback whales off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa.
*Sleeping in a house of a middle aged Brazilian prostitute because I was lost in Paranagua, Brazil who was a total stranger I met at a local supermarket. No hanky-panky coz she's like a caring aunt to me and I was 17, effin MINOR! :-P

But then, I try to try all new stuffs as long as I trust my instincts that it is idiot-proof and legal or borderline legal. Ha! Anything that drives good adrenaline rush from head to toe. Bang! Though I can say so far that scuba diving is a phenomenal experience every time I am underwater.

Anyways, everyday is a new day so no definitive favorite to single out. Everything that I've done and happened to me both good and bad are all essential parts of life. I am pretty smug of life. I just live the day, make the best out of it and appreciate that I'm still breathing. Thinking too much of negativity will only spoil the positivity.

I also believe misfortunes are essential to our lives to keep balance - everybody has one to tell. And that whatever happens happens because of some reasons without apparent explanation - I think it is better to have it that way with enigmatic sense so that we'll keep pushing ourselves for the quest to find answers. By doing so we struggle painfully I know, but we stay active and that makes us feel alive. When life is perfect, then there's no need to live, I guess.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope that through CouchSurfing, I can share my experiences to other people especially to the less fortunate Filipinos back in the Philippines where mostly think that traveling is an expensive leisure and a waste of time.

That was what I thought before, tried it and was dumbfounded it's all in having a good travel plan and personal budget travel strategies. :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

Twerking skills! Just kidding! Oh wait... Yes! Twerking! After a couple shots of tequila or Jaegerbombs. :P
