About Me

👋 G’day! I’m Danny, a 59-year-old father hailing from the charming city of Bendigo, Australia. With my twin teenage girls by my side, I’ve embarked on countless adventures across the globe. From bustling cities to serene natural wonders, I’ve explored many countries, each leaving an indelible mark on my wanderlust-filled heart.
Next Adventure
My compass is always pointing toward the horizon. Whether it’s a road trip along the Great Ocean Road or a flight to a distant land, I’m ready for the next chapter.

So, fellow travelers, if you spot an Aussie bloke with a fishing hat and a twinkle in his eye, that’s me—Danny, the dad who believes that every journey is a chance to create lifelong memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My Passions
1. Fishing Enthusiast 🎣
When I’m not busy navigating the world map, you’ll find me casting lines into tranquil lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. There’s something magical about the quiet moments spent waiting for a nibble, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Whether it’s reeling in a feisty trout or sharing fish tales with fellow anglers, fishing is my zen.

2. Trailblazer 🥾
Hiking boots are my trusty companions. I’ve trekked through mist-shrouded rainforests in Uganda, scrambled up rocky trails in Alaska and marveled at the rugged beauty of the Malaysian Highlands. Bendigo’s own Goldfields region offers its share of bushwalks, and I’ve explored them all—each step a chance to connect with the land.

3. Paddle Power 🚣‍♂️
Give me a kayak, a serene lake, and a paddle, and I’m in my element. Whether it’s gliding across Lake Eildon or navigating the winding waterways of the Alpine National Park, I relish the freedom of being on the water. My girls and I have shared laughter, sunsets, and the occasional splash as we explore hidden coves and secret inlets.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had a lot of wonderful travel experiences but what stands out the most is a 15 day paddle Down the Marsh Fork/Canning River in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Amazing landscapes, rivers and wildlife.

Travel Tips
Safety First: As a seasoned traveler, I prioritize safety. I’ve learned to pack light, carry essential medications, and stay informed about local customs and emergency services.
Cultural Curiosity: Nothing beats immersing yourself in a new culture. I encourage my daughters to try local foods, learn a few phrases, and respect traditions wherever we go.
Off the Beaten Path: While iconic landmarks are a must, I also seek out lesser-known gems. Sometimes the best memories are made in quiet corners and tucked-away cafes.
