I am a fun guy who is trying to learn more about the earth and the people in it! I am currently studying a degree in Media Production with the hopes of becomeing a filmmaker. I spent most of the last ten years working as a carpenter and realised that I had to follow my dreams to be successful. One of those dreams is to travel the world and be more spontaneous so hence why I am joining Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I want to meet more people who are open-minded, adventurous and worldly. I want to expand my understanding of the world and the people in it, have adventures and make friends around the world.
I believe that the people make a place and the best way to understand a place is to understand it's people.
Also, I'm a bit old for hostels! XD

Interests

I am a daily meditator, giggler, comedy lover and student.
I spent most of my teens/twenties in rock bands and now spend most of my time researching more holistic things like spirituality and meditation.
I would classify myself as spiritual but not religious. I am a fan of Abraham Hicks, Eckhardt Tolle, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and other people with interesting views on how how we create our reality.
Earlier this year I attended an Abraham Hicks seminar in Atlanta, GA, USA and I have just been to a 12 hour lecture from David Icke in Melbourne. Yes, the lizard king himself!
I believe in the law of attraction and that our thoughts, words and actions have an effect on our lives so I strive to stay positive, have fun and follow my excitement as much as I can!
I like a good beer and I'm no stranger to mind-altering drugs but I don't take them to party!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I grew up listening to a lot of Heavy Metal and punk (from the Smashing Pumpkins to Suicidal Tendencies) but it's actually quite rare that I do these days! Nowadays I'm much happier listening to anything funky! eg. Parliament/funkadelic, Rick James, James Brown, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Curtis Mayfield. Also emo, acoustic, punk etc. Ben Gibbard, American Football (anything by Mike Kinsella), Ryan Adams, John Frusciante etc.
Recently I've been loving the new Kamasi Washington album and saw him in the UK. Incredible.

Movies:
I'm a big fan of comedy, horror, strange movies like Airplane, Terminator 2, Old School, Hellraiser, Story of Ricky, anything by David Lynch!

TV:
Tim and Eric, The League of Gentlemen, The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, Ren and Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead, South Park - you know, real high-brow stuff!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm currently trying to shed my ego and be as authentic as possible which is not easy but is amazing!
Other than that I've played many underground punk and metal gigs, been to many more, worked on a horror movie in Nashville, USA, attended an Abraham Hicks seminar (also saw David Icke recently) and am opening up my world to all possibilities...
...that's pretty amazing, right?!
