About Me

Hey, I'm Danny - a Canadian eurotrasher with big dreams of making it in Berlin.

I recently moved to Berlin and am living in a large apartment with two other roommates/couchsurfers in Prenzlauerberg.

I love travelling and meeting travellers. I am Canadian but I have done my share of travelling, and there are still many journeys ahead. If I won the lottery I would explore every corner of the world.

Also, I love music. I play a bit of guitar and love going to festivals/live music venues.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My roommates host on a regular basis so I figure I'd sign up as well. It's fun meeting/hosting new people. I am planning on doing some travelling once things get settled in Berlin, and it would be nice to have a place to stay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan. My favourite Wes movies are:
Life Aquatic
Grand Budapest Hotel
Darjeeling Limited/Grand Budapest Hotel (it's a tie between these two)

I like reading fiction. My favourite author is probably Douglas Copeland.

Music I could go on and on about. I like most things besides gangsta rap. I think my favourite genre is alt-country...I say that unapologetically. Drive by Truckers, Golden Smog, Ryan Adams, Jayhawks...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job, sold my car, left family and friends and moved to Germany...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you what I know of Berlin. This city has some pretty awesome spots that aren't really well known of if you stick to the classic touristy spots.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My expanding knowledge of the city and its awesome venues.

My limited knowledge of the German language.

Good tales of German bureaucracy.

An unsympathetic shoulder when it comes to complaining cold winters. I lived in Edmonton...for 28 years...

A cold beer.

Life.
