Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
A few random movies that I have watched recently that stand out in my memory include: the deer hunter, The Godfather, the endless summer, short term 12, motorcycle diaries, good will hunting, moonrise kingdom, the tree of life, a river runs through it.
Books:
My favorite author is Ernest Hemingway, I particularly liked for whom the bell tolls and the old man and the sea. As one that enjoys fly fishing and has spent quite a bit of time in Ketchum Idaho (his final resting place) and Spain (the setting for a few of his books), I relate to him on many levels. I also enjoy books that entertain as well as inform about the history of the American West and the long-fought battle over the scarce water due to dry climate. Some examples include: desert solitaire, the emerald mile, beyond the hundredth meridian, angle of repose etc.
Music:
A few artists that I currently like and a few favorites include: Jason isbell and the 400 unit, the avett brothers, bon iver, death cab for cutie, dirty projectors, sufjan stevens, tune yards, m83, gorrilaz, Gregory Alan isakov, the tallest man on earth, and others.

I have been a foster parent and have done a 2 year service mission in Spain.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy volunteering for and learning of grass roots organizations that advocate for sustainability, climate change education, civil rights, public land and natural areas protection. I love to see how individuals take responsibility for their impact on the environment in a personal, day to day way. I enjoy seeing ways that people make an effort to be connected to the sources of human needs including food, water, electricity, etc. I also really enjoy hearing about others views on pretty much any perspective of thought. I can share my ideas and experiences relating the topics I mentioned and ideas for how to combat related current issues.
