About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wandering

ABOUT ME

Hello - my name is Danny Harbeson. I graduated from university in June 2015 and am now finally scratching the itch I've had to go off exploring. I have been looking for seasonal work and volunteer gigs to sustain myself through my wandering. I'm not much of a planner so I have a tendency to send last minute requests - sorry about that!

PHILOSOPHY

If you see something fall over, put it back up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In college I was hosting people and I traveled around the US a bit during the summers, but now that I'm out of school I'm planning on taking a much larger scale trip and would like to stay with people all over the world. I've stayed with hosts all along the west coast and into the southwest and have had a number of groups from Western Europe stay with me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been nothing but positive for me - it is a great way to meet people and travel cheap. I am always amazed at how open people are with their homes and I try to reciprocate that.

Interests

Games are fun. I like ping pong, chess, reading, walking, listening to podcasts (Improv 4 Humans anyone?), and I enjoy writing but I am no good at it. Ultimate Frisbee, backpacking, learning things, taking baths, science is pretty cool too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, The Strokes, Ambulance LTD, lots of things. I'd say that Reservoir Dogs is one of my favorite movies. Books - Crime and Punishment was my favorite for a long time, The Old Man and the Sea, One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Plague, Kafka on the Shore, Shogun, most things by Murakami, Lolita, I'm sure there are more that I can't think of.
