About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn, to explore and to get out of my comfort zone

ABOUT ME

Good cook. Enthusiastic. Chatty. Bubbly. Really into alternative politics.

One who often forgets a certain word or phrase to describe something with, but has a go anyway.

A fat man hiding in a thin man's body.

PHILOSOPHY

Building the world that you want to see around you.

Finding a way to create a society where altruism is rewarded and selfish individualism is obsolete.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I have never personally hosted anyone, my close friend Ben Vardy, whom I lived with for 3 years was often hosting. I really enjoyed meeting the people who came and look forward to hosting in the future.

Even my parents are now keen couch surfers!!

Interests

I grew up loving two things. Food and Politics. I have somehow managed to combine those two passions by getting involved in food politics. I am driven by the desire to challenge the injustices that exist in this world by building community and connections between people wherever I can.

I love walking in the countryside, big meals with friends, dancing to drums, singing around firesides, camping, sunsets, the sea, board games, reading, playing squash, kitten therapy, my family, snow, deep conversations, welsh rugby and listening to all sorts of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a confidence building work experience trip to London when I was 18. Ended up being 100 metres from the bus bomb in London on 7/7. Then hiding out in Tresury (where I was previously wgetting work expereince). Then walking to paddington station past all the other people stranded by the lack of public transport that day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rKI7qag5nk

Narrowly escaping a pre-emtive arrest by Danish police at the climate protests at COP 15 in Copengagen by jumping a hedge. In fact, the amazing feeling of walking around Copenhagen and hearing the voices of all the European languages of people coming together to make themselves heard. Very inspiring despite the demoralising feeling after that forum.

Night riding on bicycles with 20 mates to a lake just outside Bristol. Coming out of the forest with 20 twinkling bike lights behind me to end up cycling across a moon lit bridge. Then borrowing some boats moored to the jetty and paddling into the middle of the lake to watch the sunrise. Cracking out supplies of wine, lentil bake (still warm) and many a chocolatly snack. Timezy.
