About Me

I'm a 32 year old Australian who quit my job a 18 months ago and I'm now backpacking the world!
It wasn't my plan, it just happened but now I'm so grateful for this journey and the ability to meet people from completey different places and stages in life.

I'm a bit of a history nerd, I love learning lots about the places I visit and I'm really less about sightseeing these days. I want to feel a place by meeting people, walking down streets and becoming for a brief time part of a community.

I'm travelling to better understand myself and the world. We have one life, let's use it well and explore and understand eachother.

I'm hoping to use Couch Surfing to meet people. If I'm lucky enough to get hosted that's a bonus.

Nice to meet you!

If you want to know more about me I make videos for fun on YouTube 😊 I do this primarily because I've been lucky enough to visit places that have a bad perspective in Western Media like Iraq and Saudi. I love sharing the positive experiences I've had.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To explore a different aspect of a place by meeting people.

Interests

I love the outdoors and rock climbing. I also geek out on science (Climate Change Engineering Degree) and history through YouTube videos and Podcasts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I alternate between watching serious dramas to watching trashy Love Is Blind style Netflix. I'm a sucker for a romantic comedy and in terms of music anything 60s 70s and 80s and I'll listen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Antarctica and it was unreal. The journey back resulted in a massive storm where waves crashed over the boat destroying the outdoor furniture and leaking into the boat. It was scary but beautiful at the same time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing my experiences and learning from others. I'm open minded and really appreciate the CSing community's ability to bring diverse people together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My energy. I'm very open and friendly and love a chat. I like to make people smile and laugh and share conversations about our experiences. I'm open minded and really value learning from others.
I can also share my travel experiences if that interests you, geek out on history and climate change (as I worked in this field for 7 years).
