Overview
About Me
World traveler, Beijinger, a dreamer in heart. Current college student studying in USA.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
1)I want to experience the actual life in places I travel, from hosts of that culture.
2)through couch-surfing I want to make new friends and break exist stereotypes and culture barriers.
3)couch-surfing is a way of sharing and having a influence in each others' life.
4)It's gonna be an exploration of life which I'll never forget.
* I have a shy personality which can intimidate people at first glance. But I am actually very respectful, friendly and most of all open to experiences. Please express out when you feel uncomfortable with my behaviors. (Please forgive me when I have silly ideas about your culture, I never mean to. And please correct me at once.) Also, I would prefer some personal space just like any long lasting friendship requires.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have a mix of taste for music, but I prefer jazz, country, blues, light rock, and some pop. I also likes musicals and classic operas. I like watching dance performance although I cannot dance at all (poor body balance, lol). I sing in a choir and I play ukulele (rather amateurishly).
Movies: No specific preference.
Books: Well, every book has its strength and it's hard to choose... I read modern stories like "all the light we cannot see" as well as some classics like that of Jane Austin and Victor Hugo... I used to be a huge "Lord of Rings" fan (still love Tolkien!)... I've never read any Harry Potter books though (although I love the movies), yes it's wired, I know...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteered for childcare in South Africa for a month;
Raised grand panda in Sichuan, China for a week.
Teach, Learn, Share
Chinese is my native language, and I speak fluent English. I can help you practice languages if you are learning them. I am learning Russian language, although I speak rather poorly.
What I Can Share with Hosts
First, I can share with you a taste of Chinese culture, history and language, as well as the experience as an international student. I can also cook Chinese food for you if I manage to buy ingredients locally ;)
Second, we can talk about a variety of topics... Please share with me great musics (of any language or genre really) as well as your favorite books when we meet! And please force me to practice my speaking skills by asking me anything I may know in any area. If you allow, I humbly offer you my interests and my 20-year-old immature views. You are also very welcome to discuss politics with me. I have an open mind, and I want to learn from other perspectives.
