Overview
About Me
I haven't updated the profile below in about 10 years.. I'm not at a place in my life right now where I can host or be very available to meet up with surfers, I hope to one day be able to contribute more to this awesome community. I am somewhat involved in the NYC couchsurfing social scene, and if you meet me at an event feel free to reach out. Contacting me directly or through Facebook or a mutual friend is probably the best way to reach me.

CURRENT MISSION
To meet people and make new friends, exchange ideas, learn, grow, gain some wisdom, and enjoy life. Cliche but true.
ABOUT ME
I love learning new things, spending time in wilderness, travelling, meeting new people(especially people who are weird or just a little crazy-as long as it's the good kind of crazy!), having adventures, and also just being lazy sometimes. I enjoy good conversations as well as heated debates, and I'm always up for trying something new.
I'm very friendly, perhaps a bit eccentric, and you'll find that I often put my foot in my mouth-usually a symptom of talking too much...
My recent jobs have included being a wilderness instructor and an energy efficiency contractor. I recently completed a long journey and will soon have to find work again.
PHILOSOPHY
Respect all living things. Always consider oposing viewpoints, but stand by your convictions. Treat others as you like to be treated, and do your best to live by example. I try to remember never to judge or assume, and I can learn something from almost anyone.

Music, Movies, and Books
Nightwish, The Gathering, Tarja Turenen, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Ayreon, Iron Maiden, Sevendust, lots of other good metal as well as cheesy 80's hair metal, and too many other bands in many genres to name.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently completed hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650 mile trail that goes from Mexico to Canada, border to border. Now I'm a bit tired.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm starting to learn ASL, and eventually I would like to be fluent in spanish. I would like to know a lot more about plant and mushroom identification. There are many things I would like to learn, and I'm always up for teaching what knowledge I have.
