Hi everyone!

My name is Dany, i'm from Germany and i will travel through Japan for one year.

I'm exited to see many places, mostly the nature, the historic landmarks and a lot of awesome architecture! I studied art history in my hometown, but because it was european-centric i still have a lot to learn about asian art.

My most favorite things to do are swimming, reading and walk around a new area to discover the neighborhood.

So far i've traveled to England, Italy, Herzegovina, Poland, the Czech Republic , Holland and Egypt. And i hope to add many more destinations to the list!
I love to meet interesting people and learn about there lifes. I'm not someone to party all night, i much rather have a deep conversation, that said i still like drinking and dancing :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was recommended this website while i was looking for hosts that offer work for accommodation and thought i try a different approach here.

The idea to meet on more personal terms, to enjoy a short time together and learn about different styles of living and different peoples life appeals to me and i'd love to meet many different people and have awesome experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read fantastic novels as well as historic books. At the moment i deeply enjoy the work of Neil Gaiman, the book and TV series of american gods, are both amazing!
Other books i read recently where Les Miserables by Victor Hugo and the broken empire series by Mark Lawrence, which are odd to mention in one sentence :)

I'm a big fan of the Marvel CU and the lord of the rings movies, but also appreciate more quite films.
The studio Ghibli movies are all a treasure to me, while my favorite anime remains Paprika by studio madhouse and i will hopefully by skilled enough to read the original novel in japanese by Yasutaka Tsutsui.

For music , i really can't say, i do like most songs and don't have a very good understanding of what makes a song great. My favorite songs at the moment are Black Honey by Thrice and Follow you into the Dark by Caps for Cutie.

Until now i've never used this website, but i couchsurfed before, on my own accord and that went very well for me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new skills.
For example i really enjoy cooking and baking, but often get bored with recipes.
Also, i am enthusiastic about languages.
I do speak german as a native speaker and fluent english, but i tried my hand on many different languages before. French and russian are both fascinating to me and i want to learn both in the future, but japanese is of course what i prioritize at the moment!
So if you're interested to exchange knowledge about languages i'm all in!
Besides cooking and learning languages i do love to do all sorts of creative work, drawing, painting, small crafts or writing and i am easily intrigued by all sorts of new topics.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you everything you ever wanted to know about germany as a country, a culture, a cuisine or the history!
I also would love to have conversations with you to improve your english or german and if you like to teach, please refine your technic on me :) I'm easy to talk to.
