About Me

NEW TO CS? Read this - http://www.angloitalianfollowus.com/how-to-great-couchsurfing-guest

CURRENT MISSION

Back home in AKL after 3.5 years travelling. Currently between jobs, temping and playing a lot of volleyball. Enjoying the coming of summer by spending as much time as possible outside, hanging out with friends, hiking, playing, climbing, dancing :D

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty practical and warm person. I try to live my life ethically, honestly, happily and trying to be better every day - for myself and those around me. I strongly believe in love and caring for the environment (which includes humans!). I make a conscious effort to open my mind daily and I enjoy things that don't quite fit my world as that only makes it grow bigger :)

This (was) my travel blog: https://aroundtheworldinxdays.wordpress.com/ (very much out of date!)

PHILOSOPHY

Be free, happy, confident, explore the universe and infinity. Seize the day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the core idea of CS, which allows me to live like the locals do, and see places through their eyes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

SURFER Countless couches across NZ , Asia and Europe, amazing people and places. Love staying with locals, making meals, going on hikes, hanging out drinking beer/tea and talking for hours!
HOST Hosted some very interesting people, showed them around, cooked, ate and drank, had great conversations

Interests

I am a pretty multi-faced individual with a variety of interests, ranging from history, politics and philosophy to fantasy and completely random subjects...
I have played volleyball for over 17 years (I am a coach too) and it is my biggest passion! I'm keen on many sports and outdoor activities in general -Hiking, Climbing, Diving, Snorkeling, etc. Picked up some Aikido and Muay Thai in NZ and have since been interested in martial arts and self-defence.
I also love cooking and eating good food. I avoid consuming animal products, let's say I am 99% vegan.
Passionate about music, books and movies.
I grow, climb and hug trees

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: I enjoy reading books very much. I mostly read fantasy, alternate hystory and psi fi. My favourites authors include Cortazar, GGM, Borges, Pratchett, Murakami, Lynch, R R Martin, Rothfuss, Tolkien, Assimov, Niven and many more.

MUSIC: Any good tune with real instruments does it for me. I mostly listen to 60s and 70s, indie rock and lots of different types of music in general depending on my mood. Not too keen on electronic music/hip hop in general but always ready to be surprised.

MOVIES: Waking Life, Little Miss Sunshine, Lord of the Rings, Across the Universe, Clockwork Orange, Bunny and the Bull, Captain Fantastic, Cloud Atlas, Comic Book movies, everything done by Wes Anderson and Japanese studio Ghibli and many more. Big Stargate fan

Teach... some spanish, argentinian/vegetarian/vegan dishes from all over the world, tips on how to travel cheap. Volleyball, yoga and most importantly how to fold your shirts like a ninja!
Learn... Anything, I love to expand my knowledge! But I'd say I'd love to learn to fly (No, I would not like to see you try ;))
