CURRENT MISSION

We are currently on a Bicycle Trip from Alaska to Patagonia/Argentina. We startet in May 2014 and the first plan of 2 years has allready been changed to "as long as it takes"
Hope to meet (actually allready have) maaaaany amazing people, see lots of wildlife and see spectacular places
ABOUT ME

Hi,
We are Nici and Philip, an Austrian Couple on their way cycling from Alaska to Tierra de Fuego for as long as it takes.
Nici is a Nurse and I used to be a weather forecaster and have been working as bike mechanic recently.
We love to go slowly and take our time to enjoy special places and spend time with nice people we meet.
Nici's a total animal lover, esp. cats - so if there's some pet sitting to be done, please feel free to ask! She's also a Vegetarian. I will eat pretty much anything (as long as it's not rice pudding ;.)
Also, if you have a broken Bike - yes, i can definitely have a look at that - but please don't ask me about the weather or climate change ;-)
We both love to cook and are also used to cook for more than a couple of people.... just saying.....

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up with CS several years ago when i heard about it from a friend who travelled by land from Innsbruck to SE Asia.
Didn't have lots of guests though, cause it was a shared flat, but the fiew experiences i had where just great!
How can we participate during travelling? I guess not as much as while hosting, but we can definitely tell stories, fix bikes, cook, look after pets, clean, Nici can fix bruises.
And of course, if you need any advice on what to do in Innsbruck, or the lake reagion of Upper Austria - feel free to shoot a message!

兴趣

We love to travel, preferably by bike, any kind of music (though no jazz for Nici of Brit Pop for Philip...) but most singing slightly drunk with some friends round a fire (carrying a ukulele...)
mountains, ski-touring, photography, reading....
And just recently we added Packrafts to the large pile of stuff we are allready hauling, so kayaking.
Nici just started learning to draw and paint while on this trip.

We've canoed the Yukon, saw lots of Bears, touched Gray Whales, swam with Sea Lions and Whalesharks, but most important, just out of coincidence on the street met many fantastic people
