Overview
About Me
(Please excuse my lack of references, as I am new to being active in the community. I am hoping to make friends and get references very soon!)
My mission in life is to identify the things that scare me and do them. I am primarily an extrovert, but I definitely need/enjoy my time to be alone and recharge. I’m an extremely communicative and respectful guest, and I pride myself on being a good listener and friend. I love travel, dogs, food that comes from the earth, and feeling whole. I recently started my first 9-5 job working for an EdTech Nonprofit that I love, but, even with my new strict schedule, I want to make sure that I don't lose my sense of spontaneous adventure! Tolerance and open mindedness are the traits I value most in people. To whoever is reading this profile, I am excited to meet you and I hope we will become stories in each other’s lives!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel, I want to be an adventure of cultural exchange. I want to get to know the heart of the places I travel, and that means getting to know the people. What better way to get to know someone than to sleep on their couch! Normally, I travel for 1-4 months at a time, but because of my job, I'm looking more to take shorter, spontaneous trips and take in as much of the destination as humanly possible. I am new to the CS community, but I am really excited about joining it and being an active, enthusiastic, and respectful member!
Interests
My ideal day would consist of yoga, meditation, hiking with a pack of dogs, making a delicious meal, and going out dancing. I think that’s a pretty descriptive portrayal of who I am as a person. My ultimate goal is to one day look up at a sky full of stars without a single lightbulb to cloud my view. It has yet to happen, but one day it will.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: It really changes from season to season, but right now I’m listening to a lot of ABBA and little bit of grandson and Sasha Sloan. My favorites I just can’t shake are Florence and the Machine, KT Tunstall, The Oh Hellos, Queen, and The Beatles.
Movies: Pretty much anything that Pixar puts out. Actually, animation from any production company are usually a good bet. Psychological thrillers are great, as our socially conscious comedies.
Books: Currently reading The Ethical Slut and Hillbilly Elegy. All time favorites are Harry Potter, Gone Girl, and As I Lay Dying.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Costa Rica for a month in an alternative community in the Northern Dry Forest of Guanacaste. I lived out of a tent, meditated everyday, and met the most extraordinary people. The month culminated in a 10-day silence retreat that was absolutely life changing.
Teach, Learn, Share
In addition to my full time job, I am also a public speaking coach and would be happy to lend my services for free should you need them. I'm also in the process of perfecting my handstand/shoulder stand/headstand. I can get you started on how to do that!
I am learning guitar! Any and all lessons are extremely appreciated. Same goes for Spanish.
My favorite thing to share is food. Let’s make a meal together and get our hands dirty.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Again, food. I can also share great stories, great conversations, and hopefully a really fun night of dancing.
My parents taught me it’s always polite to bring a bottle of wine to your hosts, so you can probably expect that as well :-)
