About Me

I'm Daphne, I was born in Chile, grew up in Mendoza Argentina, and now I live in Bariloche, Patagonia, surrounded by lakes, plants and birds.
My profession is a chemical engineer, doing feasibility analysis of projects, which brought me to this African continent, which I am in love with.
I am a nature lover, it is my greatest medicine and support. My favorite activities are related to nature and movement, such as hiking, climbing, snowboarding and kayaking. My other pillar is art, having pottery, painting and writing as my language, but the possibilities are endless.
In July I will be in Uganda working and then I stay traveling for a weeks in Ethiopia. I think couchsurfing is the best way to travel because it allows me to really connect with the people and the place, to listen to those stories they don't tell us.
Something of this African continent flew into my soul, I feel that as a Latin American woman I have many things in common. So I love to share even if it is a little while with local people, maybe not necessarily to stay, and a few talks and beers is a great plan.
Something striking about me is that I am a very analog person, I try to stay away from social networks and virtual life. So if you want to know more about me, we can write each other on instagram or whatsapp and talk. It would be a pleasure for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the experience of hosting people and staying with friends. But I still don't have many friends in Kenya or Uganda, so I have to recur to Couchsurfing haha.
It inspires me to get to know other people, their values and how they see life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived through much of the pandemic in the jungle of Peru.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an eternal learner, I am inspired by how people see life, I am interested in talking about spirituality and connection.
I am interested in those stories that the system does not tell us, those of the people, those of the street, with their music and their vibration.
I can teach about plant chemistry and connection with nature, about how to habit the Andes mountains (the other mountains are a curiosity to me). Pottery, environmental impact assessments, socio-economic analysis of projects and land use are also topics that I am passionate about.
This experience of working in Uganda has been very transformative on a personal and professional level, so I am embarking on making some kind of record of it, either in written or audio format, so we can create that narrative together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share Argentinean and Chilean food. I also want to share the language, since my native tongue is Spanish and I am learning English.
We can share our sense of values, our history and how we see life.
