About Me

I'm a freelance designer living in Amsterdam. My attelier and house are located in the Eastside of the city. I think you will get to know me best by viewing my work, so feel free to check that out on www.daphnebleeker.com
I have not yet traveled outside of Europe, but I'm very excited to go to Japan in March!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have no experience with Couchsurfing yet, but I believe it is a great way to meet new people and get a more insight view of the place you are visiting.

From the first of March I fly out to Tokyo and make my way to Kyoto, also wanna stop in Hakone. I leave Japan again on the 4th of April. I hope to couchsurf there, meet new friends and take a lot of inspiration en new stories home.

I have hosted one time so far, hope to host more in the future. After I get back from Japan.
My roommates and I prefer to host girls only, sorry boys!

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: Right now I'm hooked to 1q84 by Haruki Murakami and my other all time favourite is The Secret History by Donna Tartt.

MOVIES: The Dreamers, Nocturnal Animals and The Handmaiden.
La grande Bellezza. I've only watched it ones (in crappy quality on my laptop), it has the to most beautiful scenes and I always said that if I will ever watch it again it will be on a big projection screen that does this movie justice!
Big fan of Wes Anderson and also enjoy blockbusters now and then.

MUSIC: As far I can say I have the most extended taste in music. Every two weeks I'm into a different genre. I've listened to Vivaldi on repeat for two days, then switched to a pop playlist and started to listen only all soundtrack sounds from the movie Inception. I would recommend the "Walking Like A Badass" playlist on Spotify, but I also live by Hangmatpop.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are interested I could teach you some of my creative skills!
Would love to learn some illustration skills and work with materials that I'm not used to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hope to share travel stories, try to prepare a Dutch meal and tell you everything you want to know about me personally or my culture.
I will definitely bring you some "stroopwafels", they are addictive (ask my Italian roommate)
