About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live, love, learn, and laugh through travel

ABOUT ME

I am traveling around Southeast Asia solo for a couple of months. I want to meet people, see beautiful places, and adventure around Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.

I am a minimalist. I try to go with the flow of life and make the most out of every day. So far, following my heart has taken me to some amazing places with incredible people! I like riding bikes, climbing rocks, paddling down rivers, sliding on snow, exploring the mountains, trying to play the fiddle, making people laugh, staring at the sky, buying used books then giving them away, and of course, puppies.

PHILOSOPHY

"A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving" - Lao Tzu

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love spontaneous adventure and am having a blast exploring our world. I am looking to meet people and make connections in the places I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Summer '14 After I finished up working at a science and wilderness camp for Native Alaskan 9th graders in Homer, Alaska I headed to the Southeast. I couchsurfed, backpacked, and hitchhiked on a commercial salmon fishing boat and a few sailboats. I met some incredibly warm people and saw a lot of whales, mountains, and glaciers!

Summer '12 I rode my bicycle from Seattle to San Francisco with my little brother. It was a blast! Most of our 'couch surfing' was spontaneous offers from people we met along the way

Fall '11 I hitchhiked/bussed around San Francisco/Santa Cruz/Big Sur for a couple of weeks before ski season. It was an incredible journey and I did some couchsurfing along the way. I would love to be able to share some of the generosity and hospitality I was shown.

Interests

playing outside! (rock climbing, biking, backpacking, kayaking, backcountry skiing, hiking...), seeing live music, cooking, star gazing, clouds, farmer's markets, making friends..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In one 24 hour period, I climbed 1000' of rock, bushwacked through cacti (cactuswacked?), felt every emotion, got snowed on, and was held up by gunpoint- all within view of the glowing lights of las vegas!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to ski or snowboard, slackline, bake bread, tie knots, and juggle with three balls.

I want to learn how to surf, sail, scuba dive, identify more plants, mushrooms, and animals, speak spanish, grow and preserve food, play the violin, and so much more...
