Hello everybody!

I am Daphni, an 18 year old to be student in Amsterdam. Before university ruïns my social life, I decided to travel trough Europe for the summer:) Meeting new people is, in my opinion, one of the most exciting things about travelling; hearing new stories, sharing experiences and laughs is the best there is. My interests lay for the most part in art; painting, reading, writing, sculpting, designing, watching movies, photographing (i'll stop now), but I also have a big passion for cooking and travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is such a beautifull way of meeting new people and getting to know a bit more about the culture of the country that you are visiting. I think it is a much more personal way of experiencing a country, because you are not surrounded by tourists, but by locals who truly know the place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Royal blood makes the best music! Also Stromae really knows how to get me dancing, combine that with ABBA and we have a party! One of my favorite movies (wich happens to also have an amazing soundtrack) is Begin Again. Cinema Paradiso and To Kill a Mockingbird are so good, they get me crying everytime and I adore Jaque Tati movies too! For some reason I really like reading memoirs (maybe it stimulates me to not make a shit show of my own life ;) ), for example the one of Lauren Graham or Cosey Fanni Tutti. But my favorite book of all time has to be To kill A Mockingbird.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last april I went to Vietnam with a friend and backpacked from the north to the south. We met so many interesting travellers and locals and saw astonishing, exhilirating, confronting and surprising sights. The food was a comfort, even now when I am only thinking about it! A beautifull experience that I would do again without a doubt!

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I can share with you is a chat, a laugh, help with cooking (love to cook), helping a bit around the house if needed and if you want I can learn you how to speak Dutch or/and Greek :)
