About Me

I’m on my way to Chile and won’t be available to host until August 2023.

I believe that we journey through people more than we do through places.

I prefer writing with pen and paper.

I would rather talk on the phone than text.

I try to master the art of listening.

I love hearing others' stories and sharing mine, like the time I drove to North Dakota to work on the oil fields in December 2011 and my car broke down the first day.

When I was young, I wanted to be an action movie star like Jean Claude Van Dam. In spite of my diligent efforts, I was never able to do the splits.

Most of the things I own are second-hand, passed down from family or bought from thrift stores and websites like Craigslist.

I have finished two albums of music and two music videos.

I correctly predicted the winners of the last three World Cups, Germany, France and Argentina.

I believe the warmth of our relationships determines the level of our happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

"It is not down in any map; true places never are." ~Herman Melville

It's fun and inspiring to see historic landmarks, but the real aspect of travel, for me, is meeting people. That's not easy to do in a hotel or motel room. When traveling isn't an option, I can host and share a true place with others.

A note to couchsurfers wishing to stay in my apartment, last-minute hosting is more difficult for me, though not impossible. So, if you give me a week's notice or more, I'm more likely to be able to accommodate you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've made some really great friends that I hope to see again in the future. Every experience has been positive and enjoyable.
