About Me

I'm Dara. I am wife of an amazing man and mother to two children. I've had intense wanderlust my whole life and have been lucky enough to get to travel a bit over the course of my years. I am always hungry for more.
I grew up in Indiana and went to college in Illinois, Vienna, Austria and Arizona. I stayed in Arizona after I finished my Master's degree and have been here since January 2004.
I love food and wine and beer and any combination of the three. Eating street food or pairing a multi-course dinner with fine wine...I love it all. I am also a music lover from street musicians to the opera and everything in between.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love going to new places and meeting people. I just learned about couchsurfing.com from my husband so I'm here to give it a try while we journey around. I like to know about local places and immerse myself into the culture of my location. From dive bars to food carts, Michelin Star restaurants, art galleries, the theater, mountains, the beach, I am interested in everything and learning about those things from local people is the best.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied trombone with the 2nd trombone player in the Vienna Philhamonic and my trombone lessons were in the basement of the Vienna Opera House. Getting to walk the halls of that opera house was amazing.
