I am an environmental educator. Currently, I'm working with a group of crazy magical people to run a tiny, nature-centered "unschool" out of a friend's house; our students are homeschoolers, and the norm is to spend each day outside.

Before I got into education, I travelled a lot, studied languages, wrote and edited copy and poetry. I taught English in Russia for a year. This summer, I've been revving my travel bug back up. I just spend a month in Thailand, mostly studying meditation and forest conservation projects (thank you, Thailand!).

Because the best travel happens when you meet real people. Couchsurfing lets us expand our social networks to have acquaintances to meet everywhere we go. And when people visit me, it keeps my sense of possibility alive.
