Hi, my name is Daria and I'm an enthusiastic girl from Ukraine traveling to France in October, and then flying off to Spain :)
For the last two years I've been rigorously building my marketing career and mastering my university degree at the same time. Well, you can only imagine a burnout level that I'd experienced at some point.. And I'm only 20 years old!
So, that's why I'd decided to reevaluate my life choices and start a new chapter of my life with an adventurous journey for the 90 days and a low budget.
As a teenager I used to read many books about travelling, backpacking, hiking and stuff (all that beatnik theme, haha), and I felt like that way of living really touches my soul (except doing drugs, lol, that's not my cup of tea).
So, I guess the time has come, and I cannot keep my wild soul in the cage anymore!

On the 15th of August I got my second Pfizer vaccine, and I'm currently working on getting my international vaccine certificate, and also pass de Sanitaire (I hope I'll manage to handle all of the buerocracy issues).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The desire to feel alive brought me here. I'm here to experience the most beatiful and inspiring things, to meet incredible personalities, gather new experiences and learn about different cultures. All in all, i believe that each person is special and there are so many wonderful places on our planet Earth, that I just cannot deny it and live in my nutshell. I'm eager to expand my horizons, and collect some stories that one day I'll tell to my children :)
Also, I'm eager to generate lots of incredibly aesthetis content (I do shots on film cameras) and get inspired for my further marketing ideas. I've been thinking about starting a travelling blog for quite a long time, so who knows...

Music, Movies, and Books

This may take some time to read, so get ready...

Well, let's start with the cinematograph. My favourite directors are Wess Anderson, Gaspar Noe, Woody Allen, David Fincher, Xavier Dolan, Sorrentino, Godard, Tim Burton and Scorcese. If I had to pick only one movie, I wouldn't pick any, cause that's impossible, haha!
When it comes to books, my favourite genre is dystopia, for example "1984" by Orwell, "Brave New world" by Huxley and many others. My favotite authors are Checkhov, Fitzgerald, Bradbury and Murakami. Each of those authors has both romans and small short stories, which allow to gain a deep understanding of their writing skills and get the emotional connection. My favourite poet is undoubtely Joseph Brodsky! And the most impressive book I'd recently read is "Walk through walls" by Marina Abramovich, she's incredible!

Ok, the last point goes to my music taste. Where do I even start... All of those hipster indie bands like Arctic Monkeys, The XX, Daughter, Alt-J and many-many others have been with me for many years. I'm a big fan of Placebo, Tyler the creator, The Smiths (yes, manic pixie girl!!), Balthazar, Louis Armstrong, The Commodores, Miles Davis, The Lumineers, RHCP, Moby, the Beatles, Current Joys, D'Angelo, Bowie, Coldplay, Frank Ocean, IDLES, Joy Division, Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Barb Wire Dolls, SOAD, Pixies, Radiohead and maannny others! I can also tell you about many post-soviet cool bands if you wish to :)
