About Me

Well, something about me)

My name is Dasha and I was born and spent my childhood in Nizhny Tagil, a city where the quitting time whistle sounds monotonously in the morning, marking a new working day for the factory employees. A city whose pride is the production of tanks and wagon trains. A city surrounded by forests, mountains and knee-deep snow in frosty winter. A little scary, isn't it? In fact, despite the gloomy atmosphere of the city, people there are very hospitable and with a good heart. Trust me, I should know)

Now I live in St. Petersburg.

I study cinema at the university.

I work as an artist in the local puppet theater.

I take a great interest in film photography, developing and printing photos in the red room. As for me, it's special kind of magic.

I sew pants and t-shirts for myself and my friends. Also I create badges based on beer caps, you will be able to see them as soon as you meet me.

I'm a counselor in children's camps during holidays.

But this is all nothing compared with wandering around streets and promenades of Peter. I like walking alone because in this case I do not think about bothering other person. However, it also happens that I often find interesting company for a walk or communicate with strangers who are happy to share their life stories. It]s interesting to me to collect these stories and tell other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest, this is my first couch surfing trip. Most likely, I will like it, because it is important for me to get acquainted with the city, interacting with local people, their lifestyle and culture. I think it's excellent opportunity to see local life from the inside, not from tedious sightseeing tours. As far as you can remember from the words above, I like collecting stories)

When you communicate with other people, exchange thoughts and ideas, you can be surprised to find how such conversations help to see the world from a different perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm always in search of something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked as a leader of a teenage work team for a month. Imagine 20 teenagers who are always ready to do everything to evade their work. Oh, it was an unforgettable experience! The time when I gathered all my will into a fist and started to come up with various funny tricks to inspire those guys. The result was impressive. I'll tell you how it ended up if you want to find out)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you think that I can teach you something, I'm glad to do this!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer myself for conversations, especially about art and daily life.

I would make your photo-portrait with pleasure, print it at home and send to you in an envelope with best wishes from Russia.

I also consider myself as independent guest, for sure I will not attack your personal life or time, it is not a problem for me being alone.

I know some recipes of Russian cuisine.

After all, I always have with me a pack of sweets from local candy stores)
