There is a piece of ourselves within each facet of reality. I believe the purpose of life is self-discovery, which to me means to reveal and understand the parts of our self which lies within the world around. I believe that as people, we become more whole and fulfilled the more of our self we discover. I live life eager to grow as a person, and to understand the nature of myself and the reality which is experienced. I believe the most valuable attributes one can possess are an open mind and heart. I believe in the idea that life is poetry in motion, and to live inspired by the beauty and wonder ever present.

Interests

Some of what I enjoy most is the contemplation of myself and the reality I experience. I believe the phenomenon of existence itself is the most wonderous and enigmatic subject. I believe the reality experienced is in many ways a reflection of the personal self, and through the contemplation of the personal self one can understand a lot about the nature of their experience. The counter part of contemplation in my eyes is meditation. For me, meditation is to let go of the personal self. The personal self lives in a world of concepts. A square is four lines which not only show what is within it, but also without. To let go of the personal self and it's conceptual understanding is to remove the lines of the square so there is no longer a separation. I enjoy dancing because to me it is an activity which smudges the lines between myself and the reality. My movements are a response to the music, but also in that moment an extension of it. I have grown up in the woods most of my life, and it is where I find much of myself. To go hiking and exploring through wilderness illuminates my heart and inspires my mind. Within nature I see the oneness of the world clearly and understand that I am a part of it. This life inspires me and in response I enjoy composing poetry and drawings, although I rarely keep them. As inspiration comes I also let it go.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find pleasure within most art, especially within something which is created with great intent. Art creates and alters conscious experience, and in this way it is magic. When art is intellectually profound or emotionally stirring I am very appreciative. Music genres I am fond of are; funk, rock, rhythm and blues, soul, electronic, tribal, ethnic, classical, reggae, ska, rap, and more... I enjoy animation, some of my favorites are Cowboy Bebop, Avatar The Last Airbender, Samurai Champloo, and everything I've seen by Miyazaki.

I believe wisdom is won through the contemplation of self. I enjoy learning of the wisdoms of others, as well as sharing the wisdoms of myself.
