Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had only pleasant experiences as guests of other couchsurfers, and hope my guests feel the same. I enjoy helping others with a "pay it forward" attitude.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have opened my house to guests on many occasions, just not through an official organization. For many years I ran an online gaming community and would host an annual gathering at my place. People would come by from all over the country to spend the weekend meeting each other, playing games and just having a good time. At the end of the night, the locals would go home, and those that came from farther away (4-10 of them) would make themselves comfortable in my spare rooms, on my couch, inflatable mattress or stretch out on the easy chair. I'm handy in the kitchen and am known for serving up a hearty breakfast before the next day's activities commence.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to England, Germany, Hungary, Canada, Mexico and all around the USA. I've hiked mountains and canyons in Arizona and swam with dolphins in Mexico. I attempted indoor skydiving in Las Vegas. In July 2010 I traveled from Chicago to Niagara Falls and back by motorcycle. Six+ time Burner at "that thing in the desert."

I can talk at length about Apple products, the Internet, graphic design, music, movies, beekeeping, boa constrictors, poker, tabletop and board games, firearms, and many other topics. I can teach you to play disc golf, pickleball, ride a motorcycle, go geocaching, prepare a meal out of odds and ends, and Magic the Gathering.
