Über mich
IMPORTANT: if you are writing me to be hosted, PLEASE READ the first lines of the "HOME" section (where I talk about the house), thanks.
-----------------------------------------------------
I'm Dario, people define me as a creative person, and I like to do always different activities and hobbies, often more at once, and in the end I often don't finish them :D
I'm mostly interested in music, drawing, photography, biking, and trekking. My most recent passion is folk dances (but I'm a beginner!)
I like to travel alone or with my girlfriend, hoping to meet new friends on the way.
I'm actually working in video industry.. tomorrow, I'll see.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I'd like to discover the strong connection between traveling, meeting new people, and personal growth. I've always met good people, and someone became a good friend, and that's the best thing :)
Musik, Filme und Bücher
There are too many, but these ones are one of my favourites:
-Music: I've spent years listening only to Italian rap and trance music. Now it's time to discover more genres, so I'm listening to classical, reggae, rock, and folk music. Every suggestion is welcome!
But absolutely no reggaeton and no pop music, I cannot listen to them, sorry!
-Book: Dance with Wolf, Life and Fate, Le città invisibili; Sci-fi: I've read almost all the books of Michael Crichton
-Movies: the one that really touch me deeply are"Into the Wild" and "The Eight Mountains"
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
-Crossing a whole valley with a pulley in Basilicata, Italy: some photos here, I really suggest you to do it https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&sxsrf=AB5stBicPcx2-5zuETQ3LRlrkVs6AHm-uQ:1691493821012&q=volo+angelo+basilicata&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiBvtzC-cyAAxX3YPEDHSc4ATEQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=1579&bih=803&dpr=1.62
-Mostly every trekking or mountain bike "trip" I do, becomes the longest possible until I die
-I've survived without mobile data in UK for two months.. no, it's not incredible, but I think that I could not be able to do it anymore
-Attending to a 5 days Indian wedding
Ok.. they are not so amazing, I should work on them :D
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Over the years I've learned different stuff, and I like to share:
-music production with computers
-photography
-videomaking
-drawing
-basic bicycle maintenance
-basic house maintenance
------------------------------------------A short guide to Bologna (under construction)---------------------------------------------------
Must see
-in the center: the Two Towers/Asinelli and Garisenda (n.b. in 2024-2025 are closed for important maintenance; if you come during the we, try to go to Prendiparte Tower); Saint Petronus Church (one of the biggest in the world) + Maggiore Square + Neptune’s Square; Mercato di Mezzo; Santo Stefano Square + the Seven Churches; the “Seven secrets of Bologna” (some are in the same spots).
-If you like to walk and you have some hours, go to Saint Luca’s Church on the hill (with the 666 arches) for a landscape.
-Go to Giardini Margherita for a park (nothing amazing but good if you want to relax in a green place).
-N.b. in Bologna you have arches almost everywhere (Unesco Heritage from few years).
Museums
under construction
Extras if you have time
Go to see the “optical illusion” of the Asinelli Tower from the window in Rizzoli Hospital (you have to ask to find it); to have an idea of what I’m talking about: https://youtu.be/nVc1qIeUsYY?si=iTn0NWW92MMi6LXe (skip the first minute of the video)
Typical food (n.b. everything in Bologna is expensive, probably except for the last ones):
-In the Center: Trattoria Baraldi, Osteria dell'Orsa; Pasta Fresca Naldi (n.b. take away pasta)
-Outside from the Center: Trattoria da Vito (by foot; n.b. to book in advance), Nonna Rosa (by bus; n.b. to book in advance), Arci San Lazzaro (is the cheapest place in Bologna; it’s a self service runned by a no-profit and cultural association)
Pizza:
Sorbillo (more in Napoli's way), Regina Sofia, Ranzani 13 (for gourmet pizza)
+ pizza for “extra snack": Altero (it's a chain but a good one)
Coffee:
I don't drink it, btw avoid the Main Square for high prices. A cheap one is at Baraccano.
Nightlife and event:
-Folk dances (Balfolk): every Tuesday at Arci San Lazzaro from 21.15 p.m. from October to end of May (n.b. free offer + 10 euros Arci Card required); free extra event (“Skegge”) in Maggiore Square and at Giardini Margherita in spring and summer, mostly on Friday evening (n.b. if you are interested text me to have more infos)
-Via del Pratello for pubs and breweries
Trekking:
Better to avoid:
-Station, Bus Station, Montagnola and Via Zamboni (only the last part between Piazza verdi and Porta San Donato) at night (annoying people and drug dealers.. if you have to go there just go straight and “say no to everyone”).
Close cities:
-If you like Middle Age and historical cities: Modena, Parma and Ferrara.
-Florence is alo close (half an hour high velocity train if you have money to spend; you can walk in the center in half a day/ a day, but I think it deserves more time (there are -big museums, gardens, churches..)
-go to Dozza if you like street art (1.15/1.30h by bus)
-n.b. San marino is really nice but with public transport takes more than 4 hours, so better to go there by car (because is less than 2 hours)
