About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Try to at least survive until my 27th birthday!
ABOUT ME
Traveling offers me the ability to become a little more acquainted with myself. However I couldn't give account about my personality here in a way that creates an accurate image (and especially satisfies me!). I don't like walking alone through dark woods, as i guess 90% of the world's population does not, and I don't pretend to hate instant noodles, which I feel is kind of unique among certain parts of the population. Always up for precise questions.
I'm living in a shared apartment close to the city centre at the moment. Major Metro and train lines to any part of the city are nearby. We are four, two guys, two girls. That also means I have to consider everybody's agreement before inviting you to stay with me for a while so I have to decline at times. Anyhow you're always invited to at least come over for a visit and chat!
PHILOSOPHY
My dad once came up with the wise advice that one might only regret what he/she has missed to do at the end of this life. I try to stick to these words ever since.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I more or less spent the last two years traveling (with a couple of months off in Germany) and couch surfing was sort of a guide, hostel and social network rolled into one for me, saved my ass a couple of times when I was standing at an empty bus station in Nairobi after dark with just some phone number in my pockets or a run - over bus station in Teheran on the first day after Ramadan and gave me the overall opportunity to gain immediate access to strange cultures and people. It works as an intermediary between cultures and that's invaluable these days I think.

Music, Movies, and Books
Authors who had the most impact on me are James Joyce (especially Dubliners), Kafka, J.D. Salinger, Chinghiz Aitmatov, Michael Ende, Tolkien, Albert Camus and Thomas Mann
I spent quite a time watching movies and in result my 'Favorites' would end up being a list of 50+, but I could probably list my favorite directors whose artistic skills I really admire which would be Kubrick (Especially 'Eyes wide shut', 'Barry Lyndon' and '2001'), Andrej Tarkovsky ('The Mirror'), Kurosawa, R.W. Fassbinder, Jim Jarmusch, Hitchcock, early silent movie Directors like Fritz Lang, Murnau and Robert Wiener, David Lynch, Charles Chaplin, Jacques Tati, Woody Allen, Wong Kar Wai, Miyazaki, Fellini and I also really liked the latest movies by Xavier Dolan
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Fela Kuti, Chet Baker, Joao Gilberto, Mulatu Astatke, John Coltrane, Trentemoeller, most of the Techno Music developed in Berlin, most of the classics of orchestral music, Maurice Ravel - to name a few...
