Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I joined Couchsurfing in 2009, but I began experiencing it only in 2014.
As for August 2017: in 3 years I’ve hosted around 150 guests and I was happy to meet some polite and interesting people; nevertheless, in the last months the behavior of many couchsurfers disappointed me: travelers sending requests (or accepting my invitation) but then choosing other hosts (sometimes fooling me with childish excuses !), messages of invitation not even answered, no reply to my references etc. etc.. So I kindly ask you to respect the following simple rules:
- please don’t send me a request if you are not REALLY interested in me as host (and not just in my bed or toilet!); as you can see from my response rate (100%), I always answer, and normally in a very short time, so I don't like people sending multiple requests to many possible hosts; in any case, if I accept your request, I expect your confirmation in a short time (it seems to me obvious, but there are many travellers who "play" with hosts or send "tentative" requests), otherwise I will assume that you're not really interested and will cancel my offer.
If you confirm, but in the end don't come, without informing me well in advance (or cancel at the very last moment), I will write a negative reference (oviously I will not, in case of unexpected events);
- if I send you an invitation and you are not interested (for any reason), feel free to tell me immediately, I will not feel offended (on the contrary, I will appreciate your sincerity; besides, I could offer my hospitality to other, more interested, travelers);
- if you want to have my reference, you will have to write yours first; so far I’ve always written a reference for my guests, but I got tired of people full of praises when at my place and even inviting me to their places, but who don’t find 10 minutes to write a reference on their stay.
Interests
I'm curious about what happens in the world, in social life as well as in politics, economics, etc. etc.
I like travelling, learning foreign languages (but I have a few opportunities to practise them, alas), practising some sport (mainly swimming and tennis), reading books (mainly classics, essays on politcs and economics, science fiction novels) and comics (Marvel above all) and playing chess.
Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Joining Couchsurfing, maybe ?
Teach, Learn, Share
Maybe I could teach you a basic chess; as for learning, the answer could be, once again, almost everything. Probably I should learn how to do practical works, but I'm afraid I could be a bad student!
