Overview
About Me
Recent graduate of UC Berkeley in cognitive science with ambitions, not without apprehension, of working in artificial intelligence one day. Unfortunately because I’m living at home right now I can’t host. Big into music and sports. When I was 10 I was signed up for bird camp. I am now cursed and cannot look at a bird without subconsciously identifying its species. Cellist & pianist. Half Indian, half good ol' fashion White American. I have nearly perfected my cooking skills as they pertain to rice and beans.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My previous roommate and I hosted a Couchsurfer last year and since then my roommate has used Couchsurfing during his travels abroad. I have couchsurfed in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
Interests
If I find some music interesting, I'll listen to it. Over the past six months I've learned more and more about punk, post-punk, 80s underground, krautrock, and ambient. I've also renewed my interest in recent recording of classical music, especially those by Steven Isserlis, Esa-pekka Salonen, and Glenn Gould.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book is Just Kids. It made me weep.
Music is a tough one. I listen to music as a musician would and sort of as a historian might. I’ve seen Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Built to Spill, Kanye, Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Danny Brown, Chance, ASAP Mob, Action Bronson, Vince Staples, Tame Impala, Joyce Manor, Slowdive, Ride, Beach House, Oneohtrix, and others live.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've interviewed Flatbush Zombies, a hip hop group from Brooklyn. As a cellist I’ve participated in master classes with cellists and chamber groups. I’ve also attended master classes by Peter Stumpf, Yo Yo Ma, and Steven Isserlis.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a jack of all trades, master of very few.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my strong dislike for Donald Trump and general disillusionment of the current American societal conversation. In case I haven't mentioned music enough I could probably share something in that department. Very interested in language and culture.
