We are an ordinary couple loving life and having an extraordinary adventure!

We a fairly chilled out couple, Darren with 24 years in the military under his belt, has one or two sea stories and his amazing wife Becky who is a small business owner.

We are a fairly straight down the line and dependable couple. We are having a mid-life crisis, but we think b@//@cks, we are living life to the full! We think you only have one life and you have to live it to the full. Our problem is there is not enough hours in the day, days in the week in years in your life.

PHILOSOPHY

We have too many to say but our motto is -

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted a number of great guests from all around the world, sharing great experiences and lots of fun. Meeting new and interesting people. Once we have made some new and interesting friends, the world is our oyster!

Interests

Darren is a big boy scout, loving the outdoors, adventure and adrenaline fuelled stuff. Likes to read, write, take photos, cycle, swim, run (marathons around the world), climb (mountains), walk (anywhere), sky dive (out of perfectly good airplanes), scuba dive (wrecks and even wrecked planes) and ski. We overland in our Jeep and off road adventure trailer, but we also have a boat, yes a 60ft Widebeam river cruiser. Darren is a trained chef who can bake a cake, make chocolates and can knock up an awesome soup! Becky is a music lover and an amazing host, the nicest person you’ll ever meet. Try everything once!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Any really, but not a great horror fan really! Darren is not a ‘scaredy cat’ but just does not like mindless glorified violence.
Music - big U2 fan but have a really broad range of music taste and Radio 4 listener (sad I know but true). Becky knows everything about music!
Books - Bloody loads and always reading. Darren’s dream is to write a book one day and own a library.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Darren has travelled many places and he struggles
to remember half of them whilst he was in the Royal Navy. He still does have plenty of great memories and love to spin dits (stories) over a whisky or pint of guinness. Some things have to be said after a drink, some only to good friends, some whilst close to an exit and some just when you need a good belly laugh. Becky has travelled and always seeking new adventures and experiences, living music, food and people. Always like to share stories and experiences. But more than anything, we like to make new ones!

Teach, Learn, Share

- Darren can teach cookery and how to drink a correctly made gin and enjoy a nice cold Cider.

- We like to learn about other cultures, especially food.

- We love a good board game too!

- We can share many experiences of our travels, having adventures and time in the military around the world. The good, the bad and the ugly.
