ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town called Pietermaritzburg on the east coast of South Africa, and moved to beautiful Cape Town to study and work. I really enjoy the outdoor activities in Cape Town.

One word used to describe me - FREEDOM. Whether its cycling in the cape, running in the mountains, exploring a foreign city and getting totally lost (Fun for me!), SCUBA diving in an exotic location, or partying the night way.

I am a person that wants to discover life, new experiences, different cultures, and the little gems in the corner of the earth that I have to jump on the back of a 30 year old bakkie (van) in the rain and mud in an African country for...I believe that getting there is half the fun. Walk rather than public transport, public transport rather than drive, drive rather than fly...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Other than hanging out with Couchsurfers in Cape Town, I aim to use Couchsurfing when I travel overseas to meet locals, and other travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I generally participated in Couchsurfing by hanging out with one of my best friend's (a host) couchsurfers. Really enjoyed meeting so many different people, and doing fun activities with them

Interests

I enjoy experiencing different cultures. I especially like tasting different types of food (and learning how to make them), and listening and exchanging music.

I really enjoy anything outdoors, especially the beach. So hiking, walking, and any adventure activity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - listen to wide range of music from the oldies, to the Gypsy Kings, to more popular music. I am quite keen on listening and collecting music from other countries.

Movies - I enjoy a good movie now and then. Action/comedy etc.

Books - Don't get a chance to read much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Living in Kenya, and driving to and experiencing the Masai Mara

2. Visiting Dharamshala in Northern India, and the bhuddist monasteries and schools, very peaceful.

3. SCUBA diving with sharks in Cape Town..there were about 20 around me. Apparently that particular type don't attack humans...I'm still not convinced!

Teach - I can teach you about South Africa, our history, our culture and bright future. I can also teach you to make good Indian and South African food.

Learn - I would like to learn more about your country, the history, your lifestyle, your family, learn to make some of your food and share music.

Share - Travelling experiences, most amazing places, music and life stories
