Overview
About Me
I belong to a Gujarati family, originally from Kutch.
My grandparents (originally farmers) had migrated to Mumbai to set-up a grain trading business in the early 1950s. Since then, they have been here. I was born to my parents in 1995.
I am a finance professional currently working with a start-up which is in the business of making animated content for toddlers.
I love learning about new things because I feel it broadens my perspective, and that is one of the reasons I strive to live. When I am not working, you would find me doing any of the following things:
(1) At the local pub, having beer with some of my closest friends, discussing topics such as travel, philosophy, religion, economics, politics, etc.
(2) Hanging out with friends at the pub, watching Chelsea FC play football.
(3) On my computer, surfing the web for random (but interesting!) things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For one, I want to meet travel a lot. And when I travel, I want to be able to experience the places I travel; not as a tourist, but as a local.
I want to use this platform to meet exciting people (if not hosts) from different countries and explore their countries with their suggestions, for a truly authentic experience.
Story time:
When I travelled to Rome, we (my friends and I) booked an apartment that was owned by a resident of Rome. She helped us plan our itinerary for the next two days, shared what she felt was the best things to do in Rome, her favourite restaurants, her favourite places to shop, etc. That experience has stayed with me and I absolutely cherish the two days I spent in Rome.
I am here because I want to have THAT kind of an experience everytime I travel, and I hope to be able to provide THAT kind of an experience to any visitor who is visiting Mumbai.
