About Me

If you want to stay with me, MAKE SURE TO READ the “My Home” section.

I know, I know, this is not a dating website. But I feel reminded of my okcupid profile every time I update this section... So, if you really want to turn me inside-out and see http://www.okcupid.com/profile/multiling

Maybe something more surfing-relevant:

I’€™m very direct and talkative. I almost always say what I think, when I’€™m “€œallowed”€ to. –€“ Don’€™t be scared by that, please.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I should participate in even more CS meetings while traveling! You meet always new people worth meeting... :-)

Interests

technical stuff, e.g. Free Software (Open Source), Linux, Python
traveling of course, looking forward to travel (Latin) America, Asia; I’m skipping conflict areas and cold regions for the moment... ;-)

And: biking! If you host me and I forget to ask: I would love to borrow your bike, especially if it has several gears/speeds (or a motor ;-) I trust my riding skills and “locking abilities” so much that I can accept almost any arrangements.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: Brazil, 37°2 le matin, Food Inc, We feed the world, Darwin’s Nightmare, Age of Stupid

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I skied was amazing. – Sounds a little stupid, but I started skiing late in my life, and it changed me. Okcupid changed my life as well, but I better don’t mention that. ;-)

I did some work on Linux I’m really proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

Interested in 2h trivia about the Chinese language and characters? – I could probably teach a diverse range of technical subjects and instruct for some skills in that area. The biggest problem is: if I don’t love the topic, I don’t like doing that...

So, please ask me about how the Internet works, but not how to fix your slow Windows XP installation.

Past topics I had: GPS, washing machines, energy (heating), windows (the real ones), language learning, educating children, interpersonal relationships, world wide web, 3G networks, ...

Countries I’ve Visited
