About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Return to Europe...

ABOUT ME

I'm a 26-year-old human male currently living in Chattanooga, where I (unfortunately) can't have any surfers. However, I'm always eager to meet new people and experience new foods, languages, and cultures. I'm really big into history so I love to talk about that.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmm... I guess right now I would say that I'm just trying to do as much traveling and learning as I can while I still have the advantage of being young and not tied down anywhere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I live with a roommate right now with a crazy schedule, but I'm willing to meet up for coffee or whatever if anyone wants to come to Chattanooga! I hear I'm an excellent tour guide. Also, I always leave references (only positive so far) when I stay with people. And I always bring a gift from the region where I live!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed 8 times and each experience was unique and great. Never had a bad time with CSers!

Visited these countries (not all CouchSurfing) but am always in the process of filling in more!

Interests

TRAVEL. Oh also, I studied Linguistics so languages would be a big one. History, reading, hiking, eating good food, drinking good beer, American football (but I'm open to "regular" football), film, photoshop, and much, much more.

Music: Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, Beirut, Belle & Sebastian, The National, The Kinks, Vampire Weekend, Ghostface Killah, Arcade Fire, The Beatles, Sharon Jones, Bombadil, Broken Social Scene, Caribou, Warsaw Village Band... for more, http://www.last.fm/user/darthplaydoh

Books: Cat's Cradle, Mother Night (any and all Vonnegut), Candide by Voltaire, 1984, The Man in the High Castle, and lots of history books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snowshoeing high up in the Alps was great, Paris for New Year's, the Cliffs of Moher in western Ireland, going to the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, being welcomed like old friends at our CouchSurfers' amazing party in Lyon, the Busójárás festival in Mohács, Hungary, seeing the Miramare castle and Adriatic coastline in Italy... and hopefully the list will continue to grow!

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I could teach a little French or English if necessary! I also know a lot about history and of course the cultures of the places where I've lived.
I'd like to learn anything and everything about your culture, of course, and some of your language as well. I think languages say a lot about the culture of a place.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
