About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to learn new things in order to help heal the world and play a lot of music while I'm at it. Now I don't play as much music as I used to, but I teach English and I love my job.
ABOUT ME
I'm a traveler trying to figure out this crazy world and all the people in it. I love playing music and if you host me I'll probably bring my mandolin and maybe a guitar. I love to meet new people and learn new perspectives. I'm fairly open-minded. I like to read. I also like to chill out and go have fun. I think the best way to learn is just by chilling with people, whether that's working in the fields (I'm a WWOOFer), playing music, or just hanging.
PHILOSOPHY
People shouldn't kill each other. Do your work and then retire, as Lao Tsu said. Figure out your own life because I'm not going to tell you how to live. I'll tell you what I think, but what do I know? Love your neighbor as yourself. That is, value your fellow man as much as you value yourself. I also believe that a better world is possible but we have to start by making communities that can show the world how to live that way.
Interests
Philosophy, literature, listening to people, talking to people, being silly, making music, jumping/riding waves at beaches (which I almost never get to do), coffee, tea, you, vwxyz :-P

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Absolute favorites are Woody Guthrie, David Grisman, Grateful Dead, Crass, Talking Heads, John Coltrane, and RJD2. I'm really trying to limit myself here or this will take up three pages.
Movies: Monty Python movies, Chinatown, The Big Lebowski, Brazil, Vertigo, The Maltese Falcon. I don't watch as many movies as I used to watch, but I'm hoping to watch more so I can improve my Spanish.
Books: Plato, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Rousseau, Heidegger, Foucault, Lao Tsu, Zhuangzi, The Bible, The Qu'ran, Mark Z. Danielewski, Chuck Pahalniuk, Cervantes, William Blake, a good chunk of "The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I owned a hippie bus for about a year. It was a wild experience, but I'm happy I've moved on.
Teach, Learn, Share
I suppose you can guess what I could teach from the rest of my profile. I'd like to learn more about growing food and making your own shelter. I'd also like to learn how to make my own instruments.
