My name is Daria:)) I was born in a small Russian town which is so-called “city of brides”. At the University I have studied English and Foreign Literature and at the same time German in the professional communicatiom. I am shy about my level of German. I have obtained a diploma but I am not flawless at all. So when people ask me how many languages I speak, my answer is 6,5. That “half” is German. SO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO HELP ME WITH GERMAN, PLEASE, TEXT ME:))
My dream was living abroad, travelling, studying foreign languages, living in a place with 2 official languages and also working only in the companies which give me opportunities to speak daily at least 2-3 languages. And I had it, and even in my actual company I have it:)
I can say I am lucky!
I was working as a teacher in French public schools and translator in multinational companies. But while living in France, I’ve made up my mind to work in logistics and maritime sector in order to use the languages I speak. So I came to Barcelona to study Maritime Law (I had 2,5 months to learn Spanish). And I got what I wanted: I have worked in a maritime sector and now that in a company managing trucks. And I speak 2 official languages in a place where I live:)!
I worked in each field I wanted.
And my next step is
being a freelance translator, maybe working in a local bar making cappuccino and giving yoga classes in the places I visit.
I don’t look for a stable life. I prefer to be a Peter Pan!
As Jack Kerouac says:
“Cos in the end, you won’t remember the time spent working in the office. Climb the goddamn mountain”.
