My name is Daryna (or you may call me Dasha), I'm 19 years old girl from Ukraine. I'm cheerful and active girl who loves to get to know new cultures and traditions. I'm in love with geography and history of different countries, that's why I'm studying International Relations. By travelling I want to learn how to accept all kinds of diverse cultures and peoples, though I think of myself as tolerant person, I never can be super-confident about that without leaving borders of my country. That's why I think that It's time to start travelling abroad and not only in Ukraine. also I would like to share my culture with people from another nations and to get the same in answer.
I'm huge fancier of dogs, I do not have my own but often take care f my aunt's pug and love It with all my heart. I also took part in Postcrossing project for many years, if you like postcards I can bring you some!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all, obviously, I want to save some money: in long trips most of money goes to accommodation, even though you need just a place to sleep 6 hours and take shower. But the main reason is sure the hosts. Local people who are representatives of their traditions, cities and countries are the reason why couchsurfing is such a precious site for me. The opportunity to get to know more about places which are "must visit", not only museums, monuments and historical buildings, but also pubs, restaurants and other local favourites are often even more important than usual tourist path.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like different music, starting from pop hits of 90s and 00s (I like all legendary pop hits actually but most of them from this period of time), hip-hop and r'n'b and finishing with k-pop. When I was 14 I also listened to some rock groups like Nickelback and Three Days Grace, Hollywood Undead and Skillet. Though I'm not a huge fan of them now, It's still is the part of my childhood which I appreciate very much. Now I listen to various artists, here are some of them: EXO, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Zayn, Shinee, Rihanna, dean, Little Big, Ariana Grande, Scriptonite, NCT, Truwer, RV, BlackPink, Hyuna.
Oh, and I'm huge fan of Eurovision!
From films and series I prefer dramas, crime, sci-fi, period dramas, war theme, family films and cartoons. Can't tell which is my all time favourite, there is too many great films, but from what i remember now is American History X, Book Thief, all parts of Harry Potter, The Help, Oldboy, A man called Ove, The Handmaiden, Farewell My Concubine, Hyung. I love Asian films as well as western, I also like watching old films from the USSR period. Such series as House MD, How I met your mother, The Crown and Peaky blinders, Game of Thrones are my passion too. I also watch anime from time to time :)
My favourite books are Pride and Prejudice, The Joy Luck Club and The Handmaid's tale.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know pretty much about different country's foreign policies, about valuation of human rights in diff countries, history of different wars, long-term conflicts and genocides. And sure about these topics in my country and post soviet states. But aside of politics which is usually a frustrating theme, we may discuss some questions you may be interested in, even if it's about some kind of film, book or story.
