About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Saving the world, even if by small bits. Completing myself with the right kind of experiences and the right kind of environment, so that I am whole and powerful, and capable of making an impact.

ABOUT ME
I'm eccentric, apologizing too much, slow, educated, with some sense of humor, open and almost transparent. I like being creative with whatever surrounds me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experience is so full of most remarkable encounters with the strangest and the most interesting of people, that I don't see any sense in traveling without it anymore.

I've hosted very few times over Couchsurfing, due to the fact that since I've joined CS, I've mostly only been traveling or living somewhere where I'd be a guest myself. But where I come from, hosting sometimes almost complete strangers at your home and taking care of them while they are in a foreign place - is a common practice, except it would have to be via somebody you know who knows somebody who knows somebody... I've both hosted and have been hosted this way, and I hope this kind of habitual hospitality will persist in our cultures and our communities.

Interests

My greatest interest is adventuring in all ways available to me, getting new experiences, expanding my world, travelling, of course. I love nature more than a big city, but big cities are enjoyable too.
I like art, appreciating it and practicing it. I like learning, especially by doing, like opening up new perspectives and embracing new visions. Love dancing, love life, love raw unmediated experiences of being, love loving, love searching, love finding, love roaming aimlessly, love investing all the effort I have into the struggle for my goals. I love finding new ways of being myself and of expressing myself. New ways of experiencing my presence in the world and the world being a part of me.

I'm interested in people becoming more sensible and free.

Music, Movies, and Books

By no means I could come up with complete lists. Here are just some sample picks from the top of my head:

MUSIC
Fatoumata Diawara, Sara Tavares, Luisa Maita, Rokia Traore, Meta Meta, Soko, Cidade Negra, Tribalistas, Smoke City, Sunset Rubdown, Moonface, Arcade Fire, The Knife, Fever Ray, Fleet Foxes, PJ Harvey, Sigur Ros, but then there is also the inexhaustible abundance of world classics, be it orchestra or rock or whatever.

MOVIES
I hardly ever watch those for the past 3 years or so, because I am too greedy for experiencing things in reality, I get jealous and impatient to see things happen on screen and not to me instead. But from back when I used to still watch a lot of movies here are some completely random picks:
Kids Return, Anton's Right Here, Trainspotting, Magnolia, The Fall, Mulholland Drive, Wild at Heart, Fargo, Time of the Gypsies, Underground, Happy Together, Ashes of Time, Curse of the Golden Flower, Seven Samurai, Central Station, Salaam Bombay!, La Haine, Biutiful, Mne dvadtsat let, Istoriya Asi Klyachinoy, kotoraya lyubila, da ne vyshla zamuzh, "Aguirre, Wrath of God", Lawrence of Arabia, Dancer in the Dark.

BOOKS
Karamazof Brothers, Anna Karenina, 100 years of solitude, Unbearable lightness of being, The heart of darkness, For whom the bell tolls, A farewell to arms, Extremely loud & incredibly close, Journey to the west (by Wu Cheng'en), Places in between, 'Compromise' and 'The Zone' by Dovlatov, Days and Nights of Love and War, The Pillow Book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking upstream for an hour, neck-deep in a mountain river's icy water, playing an indian on a suicide mission during a field role playing game.

Thanks to these games, when I grew up, I knew that these experiences is what life should be about.

What I Can Share with Hosts
