About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep physically active, travel, meet new people, experience different cultures.

ABOUT ME

Friendly couple who keep fit through many different activities, spend quality time with grandchildren, like to travel and meet new people, enjoy dancing, socializing, hiking, running, racquet sports, and live life to the fullest.

PHILOSOPHY

We all need three things: something to do, something to look forward to, and someone to love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking forward to meeting people on our travels and to opening our home to people who travel in our part of the world. Because we get many requests, particularly in the summer, we like to restrict the age to between 40 - 75, one person only, and for a maximum of 2 nights. Please take this into consideration before contacting us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since 2009 we've hosted numerous couch surfers (several repeat ones) from Australia, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand, Brasil, Netherlands, and various parts of Canada and the USA. In 2010 we couch surfed on Vancouver Island and from November 2010 - April 2011 all over California, Arizona, Utah and parts of Nevada. In late 2011 and winter/spring 2012 we couch surfed all over fabulous Australia! We spent 5 months (late 2012 and early 2013) in Hawaii touring Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island--no CS, just hostels. From November 1/13 to April 30/14 we traveled all around New Zealand where we had an amazing time and met wonderful people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic interests although I prefer reading while Eddie prefers watching movies. Two of my recently-read authors are Haruki Murakami and Kazuo Ishiguro.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We travelled all over Australia visiting the major cities as well as almost everything inbetween. It doesn't matter where you go: there is ALWAYS something to see. We spent 5 months as travellers in Hawaii--loved everything from the black sand beaches to Mauna Kea! Four years ago we travelled throughout New Zealand from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island to Taranaki to the East Cape. Two years ago we car camped all over the beautiful state of Florida including the Panhandle and made our way over to New Orleans and back.

Teach, Learn, Share

We could help people improve their English skills, teach people about our favourite racquet sport--pickleball, and tell them about our beautiful city and province.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can show them our beautiful city and surrounding areas.

Countries I’ve Visited
